Like a conversation

no ones listens

no one breathes

imagination

erases like the ocean on the sand

take a look

"Pin Me"

I am so in love with PINTEREST. Blog viewing for creative ideas has always fascinated me so when I get a chance to view blogs without having to spend hours and hours searching (and I'd never be able to find some of these blogs.) I am on it.

Several bloggers have captured my heart, and I have them in my favorites so I can view them daily to see what fun things they are creating, recipes so easy, or what thought-provoking words they are sharing.

And, it is so much fun just to see what others "pin" on their boards.

Ok...eight seven girlfriends (We left Judy in Montgomery.) packed in a car for 2 hrs as they traveled home.  No. Let’s rewind a moment....

Sometime in January several girlfriends got together and planned to spend an evening dining and “Rocking and Rolling” with Elvis and Buddy Holly at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery, Alabama. The date was set for February 13th.
Judy and I journeyed earlier on this day leaving around 10AM for a bit of shopping and for her to settle in with her daughter and family for a few days visit. We spent our time non-stop talking and learning that we had more in common with each other than we thought. Judy prepared a lite lunch for us which we ate “in style” (“in her vehicle”). She had for us sliced strawberries, two kinds of cheeses, chips, and bacon parmesean baked crackers. Oh my…what a treat!

Neither of us was really looking to shop but we did get some great ideas on layering clothes and utilizing accessories that we already have in our closet. (And some we’ve never worn (the belt)…right Judy?)

The other girls, Gloria, Glenda, Lisa, Joy, Retha, Jean, gathered at 3:30PM and began their journey soon after meeting up. No doubt there was a lot of chit-chatting going on.  I warned the driver, Glenda, that I would be returning with them so they better get their “chatter on” about me on the way up. Love those girls!!!

As they traveled by “Sax” and Kohn,  Judy and I contacted them on their whereabouts, I was informed by Gloria I might need a helmet on the ride back. Hummmmm…what’s up?

We dined at Mimi’s Cafe. Now with eight ladies, there is bound to be some drama. Let’s see…gravy is good on rice, soup is hot, second round of beverages is really good, and free muffins with a wink are even better.

With our two vehicles parked side by side at ASF, we all readied ourselves to walk to the theater’s front door. But first, the girls showed me where my seat would be on the ride back home…the small area behind the third row seats.  Maybe I’ll be more comfortable with the hatch open and my feet flailing in the wind.

Top of the Festival Stage and seated in a small grouping, we had a blast “rockin and rollin” to the great music of Elvis and Buddy Holly. Clapping hands, singing out loud, and dancing…we really had a good time.

Now back to the beginning of this story...

Eight Seven girlfriends (We left Judy in Montgomery.) packed in a car for 2 hours as they traveled home. (Oh, they all gave in and I was spared the “small seating”.) We began the journey after a quick detour to a convenience store to stock up on drinks and snacks for the road.  Before we even got out of Montgomery, the car was jumping with stories and laughter.

Listen up…You Pinterest? What’s that? I can’t even get this FB down. I believe the general concensus was that some are definitely in need of a workshop.

Blogging – That's me, and I was sharing my most recent post…Salmon "croquets". I know...salmon don't play croquet.

Traveling – Glenda, Gloria, & Retha went to Savannah and a trip to the ER was needed for one’s eye...Hey...Do you wear con "tics"? Wow, didn't know that Tic-Tacs was a sponsor for them too!

Saw a dear…sorry…Saw a deer.

Packing? “Roll that window up, Lisa!

Awww man...I've got to work tomorrow. Not me. Sleeping in. Ya'll be good!

Love to All Ya'll Girls!

Birthday/Travel/Visit...and Salmon...Dad would be proud

I surprised my mom Friday, January 27th on her birthday by showing up on her back steps mid-afternoon. She was so surprised. Susan and she had been to her doctor and running errands. Susan knew I was on my way and kept in touch with me during the day. I love surprises.

On Thursday, the three of us met for the TMBC-Keenagers and ate lunch. Our prepared foods were steamed cabbage and fried salmon. Dad would have been so proud of Susan and her salmon cooking, Mom and her advice and my photo-taking. We were a cooperating "trio".

Our Salmon Experience

Friday morning the three of us again left the house and headed towards Charleston, SC. Mother had another doctor appointment. We stopped in Florence, SC to eat breakfast at Shoney's. Mom's neice, Nancy, lives in Charleston, and we missed seeing her this visit. After the appointment we left and drove to Bowman, SC to visit another neice of mom's, Patsy.

We enjoyed seeing and visiting with Patsy. A lot of memories shared.

We traveled back home...stopping for a bite to eat at Starfire Grill in Florence. Tired and worn out, mom and I probably stayed up about 30 minutes before going to bed. Whew...tired!

Saturday was a lazy day. Susan and I went to Ollie's in Rockingham, NC. It is such a neat store jam packed with lots of goodies and good prices. I can't wait to go back again. My brother and his wife, Frank & Ann, came for a visit today. They brought pizza with them.

Mom and I went to church on Sunday at Shiloh. David, my brother-in-law, pastors. It was so good to see everyone. A small church with a big heart. My cousin Linda came for a short visit. It was good to see her again.

TAKI...TAKI...TAKI...one of my favorites places to eat. Mom and I headed to Laurinburg, NC Monday for lunch. Tammy, my neice, met us there. We had a nice time. Mom and I shopped at Goody's and Walmart before heading back home.

So much I want to do in such a short time. And on the other hand, mom and I just love to sit around and talk...or with this visit...she and I listened to an audio book as I knitted a scarf. Love my visits.
