Walk of Prayer for Morgan Hasty & her family

Tonight our church services were cancelled. The young girl in the photo above has rhabdo, and her cancer has returned for a third time.

Our church family and many others joined in tonight as she & her family began a "Walk of Prayer" on the Upward Field. In silence we followed.

First and foremost we give glory & praise to our Father in Heaven who is The Great Physician.

Prayers for...

...Morgan, her brother Dylan
her mom Mitzi,her dad David

...peace & wisdom for Mitzi & David

...wisdom for her doctors and nurses

...minimal side effects from the chemo

...Morgan being able to attend school

...for Dylan to feel God's presence
during uncertain times.

A baseline MRI will be done tomorrow. Chemo treatments begin Monday, September 30th. Treatments will be weekly. At around 6 - 8 weeks another MRI will be done for comparison.

"For I know the thoughts
that I think toward you, says the Lord,
thoughts of peace and not of evil,
to give yo a future and a hope."
Jeremiah 29:11

"The weapons we fight with
are not the weapons of the world.
On the contrary, they have
divine power to demolish strongholds.
We demolish arguments and
every pretension that sets itself up
against the knowledge of God,
and we take captive every thought
to make it obedient to Christ."
2 Corinthians 10:4-5

I love the fact
that I don't have to be
       without flaws.

              for the reshaping
                       by my Maker.

sclerosing rhabdomyosarcoma or rhabdo

Cancer...a heartbreaking word to hear and certainly a devastating echo that reaches the depths of one's soul for the third time.

This has happened in a very dear friend's family. Her granddaughter has another cancer journey.

Our hearts are broken with the news. Understanding...there are no words. We stand still. We cry out. We get angry. We pray.

Lord, we know that you love us. We trust in your plan for us. We may not understand our circumstances in life but we lean fully and totally upon you.

You are The Great Physician!
You are our Rock!
You are our salvation!
You are our Hope!"
You are our everything!

Worthy is the Lamb!

I participated in the Living Proof Live Simulcast with Beth Moore & Travis Cottrell today at my church. If you have never been to one of her events or participated in a simulcast with her, you are missing out on an awesome and wonderful experience.

Almost 300 ladies of the Dothan area were in attendance at Memphis Baptist Church. There were 12 men and 4 teens taking care of sound, set-up & clean-up of breakfast, lunch, snacks & 14 kids so the ladies could be free to worship & study.

Never really thought that much about my "old self"...how it was just "hanging around". Gonna write an obit.

Franklin Family & Friends Bridal Shower

Gloria and the girls, Andrea & Allison, along with Sue Clark, my best friend, hosted a shower for Hannah on Monday, September 9, 2013. Precious little helpers were Mylee & Brooklyn.

Family, my friends from Grandview & a few neighbors were invited to Gloria's for a night of good food & a couple of games. It was so good to see everyone particularly those that I haven't seen in a little while.

The table was beautifully decorated with Fall items and delicious pick-up food. Mylee had asked Hannah what she would like to drink. The strawberry tea was very good.

Hannah and her mom begin serving themselves first.

Allison had Hannah go into the kitchen where she put an apron on Hannah and had a tray full of kitchen items for her to carry. She then came into the living area where all of us were and walked around us, pausing briefly, for approximately one minute. She then excused herself to the kitchen.

We were then timed to see if we could recall the many items that she was carrying. Kay Bostic was the winner with 15 items that she remembered. (I remembered nine.)

Our next game was actually a "Left or Right" story that was read by Allison. A very cute story about how Hannah was looking for "Mr. Right". As Allison read the story we were to listen very carefully. Every time that she spoke the words "left or right", we would pass the gift bag to the direction that was spoken. It was really funny at times with the "back & forth" hand movements. Hannah ended up with the gift bag on this game.

After the games Hannah began opening her gifts. She received many nice gifts which will be a tremendous help in getting her and Garrett on the right path of this new journey.

Blessings to both of them.

Hannah's First Bridal Shower

On Sunday, September 8, 2013, my Bonded In Love Sunday School Class hosted a bridal shower for Hannah in our FLC. Pictured below are several of the ladies who are in the class with me. We took this picture before any one else began arriving. Unfortunately, I did not take another picture which would have included  many other ladies in the class.

The shower was wonderful and Hannah received many nice gifts that will help in this new journey that Garrett and Hannah will take. Blessings to both of them.

My heart...

This handsome guy has my heart.
He is my son.

I am extremely proud of the man he has become and
of his career accomplishments.

He will be marrying a young lady on October 12th.
They have dated for 5 1/2 years.

I am blessed to be his mom.
My heart is blessed.
