Last night as I was finishing my phone conversation with mom, there was some movement in the yard to the left of my eye. There was Mr. Turtle heading towards the back flower bed.

I can't imagine how in the world this turtle got into our fenced yard. As far as I know, there are not any open areas around the fence line. Puzzling!

Here you can see Mr. Turtle
make its way into the green plants.

Guess who has traveled across the back yard and is now on the other side of the yard...yes, Mr. Turtle. I think he is looking for a way out, and I plan to give him a new home. Here is Mr. Turtle waiting for his "ride".

Gayle, my next door neighbor, and I got him into a box and took him to our area pond. Just a few feet from the water...hope he likes his new home.

Good Day to Ya! I've been daylily shopping with some friends, and it is a beautiful day. Hot, hot in the sun but there was a little breeze here and there in the shade.

There were so many daylily beds and so many varieties to choose from. Just gorgeous, gorgeous blooms!

We were greeted by BJ of Lilies of the Field over in Midland City and given an old fashioned hand fan, a catalog and some colored flag stakes for marking the daylilies we wanted. Decisions, decisions!!!

After a little while, BJ came driving up in his golf cart to bring us some bottled water as he began harvesting all of our chosen daylilies. Our fellow, below in the collage, was so patient with us as we made our final decisions.

my choices

Might just have to take another road trip
with these friends...we had a great time!!!

my son...my joy

...my heart swells with love & joy when I see my son's smile.
It's a hot one y'all.

He loves soccer.
He loves to officiate soccer.
He loves the game!

A caring son who makes sure his mom is happy on Mother's Day weekend talked to me and his opportunity to officiate. This mom only wants happiness for her son, and in return my heart is happy with joy. We spent the afternoon together...he officiating and I watching my son. How proud I am!!!
Parents supporting their children.

Teams scrambling on the fields for that win and
a soccer loving official who gives his all.

Mother-Daughter Banquet

A night for mothers and daughters to share in fun, laughter, fellowship & good food. Tammy was in charge of decorating the fellowship hall of Shiloh United Methodist Church. It was a fun night.

and when we came home...

Surprise! Surprise!

Susan & I planned a surprise trip to Bville Saturday, April 30th. Well, Mom knew Susan was coming to surprise Tammy but she did not know I was coming to surprise her.

A Mother-Daughter Banquet that mom, Susan & Tammy have always attended together was scheduled for Tuesday, May 3rd. How could Susan not go with them this year? (Remember she is now living in Alabama.)

Driving on the road leading into the wooded area of "The Country" we planned that I would get out of the car first...and I did. Mom thought she was talking to Susan (She has macular degeneration.) & then asked who was in the car as well when the other car door opened. Totally surprised!

Our next surprise took place Sunday morning as Tammy came to pick up mom for church. Our plan was for mom to do as she normally does each Sunday morning. Susan & I planned to go out the other door with her leading some feet ahead of me, creep up to the car & get in. However, it was raining a bit and required us to kinda run to the car.

Susan took off running first, and then I started when she rounded the corner of the house. But I guess I ran a bit faster because when I opened the car door and looked at Tammy's face, I knew she was.....well.....she was "in panic mode" to say the least. Susan said with a slight raised voice...........SURPRISE!

All Tammy saw was "someone running up the passenger side of the car & flinging open the door". I guess we surprised her.....perhaps a bit too much!

A beautiful day for working in the yard on Monday.....

.....until the rains came down...cute little "Drowned Ones".

Preparing to travel to R'ham for dinner after a long day of outside work & finishing up in the rain, a small surprise to me on the floor of the vehicle.....

.....getting a smile and a "good job today" message - missing you Pa.
