On the night of July 29th sometime when I was unaware, hubby arranged an anniversary surprise for me.

You see...we have always lived quietly when celebrating events in our life, and this is how we like it!
There is no big fanfare or declaration. Our life is celebrated every day.

Now don't go thinking that we have a perfect union. We have grown together thru our joys & trials. We have learned to visit and enjoy each other's interests. Although different as different could be, we compliment each other.

Now this surprise...he had opened the hall closet door & taped a message to the door. (must have been after we went to bed)

So.....it's Saturday, and he plays golf. This is the only day that he does not wake me. I sleep in on Saturdays.

As I got up and headed towards the kitchen by way of the hall, there was the closet door wide open. I immediately looked inside the closet and wondered why I had left it open. (Linens, sewing materials, puzzles, games...all stuff that I use...figured I had done it. lol) Had no clue so I closed the door and went about my day.

Fast forward to 1:30 PM or so..........

Glenn is home from playing golf. After a "date afternoon" of shopping, a movie & a meal to celebrate our anniversary, we arrived back home. As we begin to settle in for some tv, he mentions something about a message. Didn't know what he was talking about so he showed me.

Yes, on that closet door...where I looked in to try to remember why I had left the door open & then I shut it...I saw his message.

It's the little things that he & I enjoy quietly.
I love my guy!

Adoption.Service.Blessing

"Religion that God our Father accepts
as pure and faultless is this:
to look after orphans and widows
in their distress and to keep oneself
from being polluted by the world."
James 1:27

On August 13th I will be participating with other volunteers with a day of service in a BOTH HANDS project alongside this sweet couple from my church who are on an adoption journey. I feel so blessed to be able to help in their journey.

I don't think I will ever pass over the Walter F. George Reservoir/Lake Eufaula without taking a photo of the "Tree Family" as I have so named them. There are times when the little one is almost covered with water.

On this drive to SC I was unexpectedly gifted with a view of eleven ducks on their travels.

And then as mom & I traveled back to the house from L'burg, I had to stop & take this photo.

...and then play a little with the photo

I just love skylines.
