It has been a long time since we spent a Sunday afternoon just riding around looking at houses, businesses and the countryside. After we were married we rode around a lot of Sunday afternoons looking at the homes and dreaming of the day we would own a home.

We began our life at Camelot Apartments. After a couple of years we purchased a home in Circleview Subdivision. I loved that home! We had great neighbors, and everyone was so friendly. We lived here for almost thirteen sweet years...until we outgrew the home.

In 1992 we moved to Lakewood Subdivision on Foxfire Drive. This home was for sale in 1989, and when I finally got Glenn to agree to look at it, it was sold. I was so sad. THEN..... three years later the home was for sale. It didn't take long for him to agree to look at it. All I can say is...God, you had a plan for us. Your timing, not mine.

So, here we are...28 years later, riding on a Sunday afternoon, and I am secretly dreaming of a smaller home.

We have been worshipping at Memphis Baptist for almost 43 years. During this time we have been pastored by Bro Ernest O'Neal (over 32 years) and Bro Jim Tate.

The church I attended when I was Brutons Fork. Not sure when our family moved our membership to the town church, Thomas Memorial Baptist Church. Pastors that I remember when worshipping were Cook, Dent, Bass.

Since COVID-19 and our state's "shelter at home to safer at home", we have been worshipping online thru Livestream since late March.

Our church began Phase 1 of worshipping on Sunday May 17th with two services.  We will continue this phase thru July. We are choosing to continue worshipping online thru Livestream until...

After listening to Bro Jim, I switch over and listen to Bro Billy at Brutons Fork. Mom moved her membership back to the church some time ago, and she loves it.

It wil be wonderful when the day comes for us to gather back with our church family for worship & praise to the one who is in control.....our Lord & Savior.

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.

Let the oceans roar and foam.
Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!

The Lord of Heaven's Armies is here among us;
the God of Israel is our fortress.

Psalm 46:1-3, 11

Be sill and know that I am God!
I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the world.

Tomatoes…Slocomb tomatoes. Oh my!!!

These tomatoes are the best. I wait patiently every year for Julian Aplin to place  his ad in our newspaper. He offers a u-pick, and I love it!!! When I see his ad, I wait a couple of days before I go picking

There is nothing better than a Slocomb tomato sandwich.

Finally made an appointment to have my hair cut. As you see in the above pictures, my hair was getting a bit long. I could even put it in a small ponytail.

Even though I enjoyed the long hair...for a few weeks, short hair works better for me...and it is super easy.

A Sunset Kiss For the Night

Saturday, June 6, 2020

Weeks just seem to mesh together now.

I use my 7-day medicine container

to keep up with what day it is.

It’s only a problem

when I forget to take my meds.

There is no schedule, no plan for the days.

It’s just “wing-it” days.

Maybe yardwork, perhaps housework,

grocery shop…

even lay around lazy days.

I need a haircut.
