no words...just silent praise

So this little fella here...Jack...loves to eat the bird food from the hanging bird feeder. He has his own feeding station in our back yard but he just loves to climb the patio & jump over to the bird feeder. You would think he was a fat one!

I always talk to him and enjoy our (my) talks. I am allowed within 2 feet of him, as he stares me down, before he runs.

Early this morning in the wee hours, we were expected to have some strong weather. It did not happen. However, this little guy prepared himself & hunkered behind the iron metal on the screen door.

Then he moved into the corner,

before moving along the wall's edge,

and crawling up the side of the wall.

I watched his movements for an hour or two...just to make sure I knew where he was at all times. I would have hated to have stuck my hand in my small yard basket hanging on the wall for my gloves or pruners only to find his hiding spot.

Hubs finally came home and grabbed him with the pliers. You can see how he wrapped himself around the pliers. He was taken to the back corner of the lot and released.
Snakes---
POOF!!!
Be gone!

What fun we always have
when we are together?

Monday, April 15, 2019

some days...it just seems that we pass each other as we walk to our side of the bed & crawl in for the night, praying for a restful night.

some days...it's all we can do to remember who, what, when, where, why & how, and even our name.

some days...it's just frustrating for him, me and/or us.

some days...it's us

...and the joy of gratefulness fills our being and love surrounds and completely blocks everything for our time.

"There is a large measure of joy
in ordinary moments."

day breaks to warm light
as my backyard comes to life
with colors of purple, rose,
orange and green
drawing me in
to hours of soil stirring
and plant care

To say that this basketball season for Auburn Tigers was a good one, is an understatement. It was GREAT!!! Auburn played firmly as a unit...as a family.

First in their journey, they defeated Tennessee to win the SEC Tournament. This was the motivation they would now need as they enter into and compete in the NCAA Tournament.

Their road in the NCAA Tournament was truly exciting. Watching them play against what many called "Blue Blood Teams" was nerve racking. We watched as they knocked off three of the programs in college basketball history.
  • For the 32-team round, Auburn beat Kansas.
  • For the Sweet 16, Auburn beat North Carolina.
  • For the Elite 8, Auburn beat Kentucky.
  • Final Four, Auburn was ready to win against Virginia with only 1.5 seconds left.
    • Virginia dribbling down the court "double-dribbled" & shot, they rebounded, and their best shooter tried a 3pt shot only to be fouled by us...UGH!!!
    • Virginia won with his 3 free throw shots.
Auburn is not a Cinderella team. They are a winning team...Champions!!! WAR DAMN EAGLE
