F2 HOME
PHASE THREE

Their home is nearing completion with only a few more days left until it is finished.

We met Garrett & Hannah this afternoon over at their home to do a quick walk-thru with Mark, overseer of the home. Closing on the home is planned for the 28th with a last walk-thru before the signing. Mark was interested in seeing if there were some things that could be done this coming week to help expedite the closing for G/H and them.

First thing I noticed was that the yards had been sodded and plants/shrubbery planted...really looked nice.

We talked a little while before going into the home about the outside of the home. According to the  house plans, there was going to be a short wooden beam on the gables. This they would need to re-stain/treat every year. They opted out of this plan. (Yay!) I thought it would detract from her outside choice.

Plans for the first of the week are to include the installation of the fence, the front porch column, the back porch steps, the garage entrance steps, and the garage door to name a few.

Inside the house Hannah and Garrett were marking places with blue painter's tape for the crew to review. Questions were asked and answered. Overall, this time was well spent for them.

Another peek at the home.....

Yay! It's "Mountain Time".

We're leaving today, and I am so excited. Excited because it's the MOUNTAINS (where I would love to live one day), and we are going with some special friends of ours.....
The Bostics. EEK!!!

my official "We're Off!" sunrise picture

and they are behind us.

As we began traveling for the day, we made arrangements to switch-up teams in the cars. With a little nap already out of the way for both Kay and me, I took over driving, Kay got in the car with me, and Glenn rode with Greg. She and I had the best time catching up on family and friends.

We arrived at the cabin, unloaded and checked out the balcony view of Mt LeConte.

Here are some pictures of a tree and its fruit on the right of the house down the hill. Quite unusual.

We freshened up before heading out to the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant. Love their complimentary Apple Fritters, Homemade Apple Butter and the Apple Julep to get us started. The Sunday Special was still available, and it was de-li-cious!

sunset to end the day

Of course, the guys took their golf clubs planning to have two days of golfing. They left early Monday morning. Glenn reminded me of the sunrise to come. With my breakfast in hand I settled on the balcony to watch a beautiful sunrise. After eating, I continued my morning of Bible journaling/study. I could do this every morning...(hint, hint Glenn).

When the guys returned and we all got ready for the night, we traveled into Gatlinburg to eat at Calhouns… another of our favorite restaurants.

Then it was COUNTRY TONITE!!!

This show is always jam packed full of music, dancing, and comedy. Their show ends with a tribute to ones who have served our country. It was an honor to recognize & applaud these men and women. Our friend, Greg, stood proudly.

Backpacks packed with water, snacks, tp, camera and we're off to "hunt bear" at Cades Cove. It's Tuesday and we are leaving early.

ready to hike Abrams Falls
~a moderate 5 ml roundtrip hike to a 20' waterfall~

Despite only seeing 1 bear in a tree (somewhat hard to see), turkeys, and deer, we had a wonderful day riding the loop and hiking.

Back at the cabin...worn out & tired...we rested a bit and then got ready to go out to eat. Cracker Barrel tonight and then home for balcony viewing & card playing for the evening.

Wednesday...another day of golf for the guys. They talked about the homes on the course. Yep, nice size homes!

Kay & I spent the morning shopping. I had been looking for drinking glasses for some time now and I found them at Old Time Pottery. She bought her gala apples from the Apple Barn and Cider Mill, and me...well, I  purchased Apple Pomegranate and Apple Peach wines from their Winery. 😏

Got a text from the guys that they were heading back to the cabin from their golf outing, so we knew we had about 40 more minutes before we needed to stop our shopping. Our plan for the night was to eat "early bird" at The Old Mill. Whew!!! We made it with 30 or so minutes to spare.
Now this is some fine eating here.
Fried Chicken, Fried (thin) pork chops
and their cup of corn chowder w/apple fritters
Yum, Yum, Yum!!!

Card playing again...
(and Greg seems to be having fun...😀)

Time just goes too fast when you are having fun. What a wonderful little vacay with some really special friends of ours. Until next time...
