This virus…..

Our son & daughter-in-law (NV) experienced Covid 19-Omicron Variant this month. She received her positive result on the 13th and he on the 17th.

Headache/pressure, congestion, sore throat, coughing, body aches were their common symptoms. Garrett did experience a few days of nausea/vomiting. He was prescribed medication for his vomiting through a Teladoc conversation.

Thankful both are back at work and doing good.

THEN.....

Hubby (V) took the PCR test the 24th and received his positive result on the 26th. His symptoms were very, very mild.

Very grateful it is over with them.

On Wednesday, January 19th,
I attended my first meeting
of the Friends of the Library.

Everlie mentioned that this meeting is always jam-packed
with information for the upcoming year.
She was right!

The most wonderful part of the meeting was
a unanimous vote to donate $42,000
to Dothan Houston County Library System.

Without the love & support
of our members and the many, many readers
through their membership dues,
purchases from the annual book sale and
mini-book sales at both libraries, &
the online book sales,
we would not be able to support our library.

When I began my volunteer work with Friends of The Library/FOL, their workspace for last sorting & boxing up the books for the annual sale was in two storage units. One housed the donated books/prepared sale boxes, and the other held empty copy boxes. This is where I volunteer...the storage units. Most of the time it is just me and my music...and I LOVE IT!!!

~My First Workspace~

A few days before January 8th Everlie (president of FOL) & I met to look at a potential storage unit on site that would house ALL of the items for FOL. We viewed the unit, discussed its potential & felt that this unit would meet our needs, so we agreed to accept this unit.

Now Everlie & I were introduced some years ago as we volunteered to install software onto newly purchased Chromebooks for Montana Magnet School.

After Everlie secured the new unit, she & I were ready to begin the move. We moved what we could and left the prepared sale boxes and the empty copy paper boxes for another day. Everlie was planning to enlist help from her son's friends who attend Providence Christian in moving the remaining boxes

~Our New Unit~

On January 8th these young men finished moving all of our prepared book sale boxes and empty boxes. We are now housed in 1 storage unit. Thanks Guys!!!

These three words....

She was the epitome of a Southern Lady.
Her Christian life stood firm, and
her faithfulness was an inspiration to follow.

The smile upon her face was genuine.
Her love for her family was fierce.
She spoke with wisdom & truth.
 She radiated love.

My friend.

She recently graduated to her Heavenly home.
I miss her but rejoice that soon, very soon
we will be worshipping & praising
our Heavenly Father together.

Glenn & I celebrated the ending of 2021 at PCB.
~~~ blue skies & white sands ~~~
 ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
In 2020 with the Covid-19 virus running rampant, we could not justify our spending a week at PCB celebrating the end of a year with others as we had in past years. We had already seen within the year businesses closing, "sheltering-at-home" and "mask" mandates, virus cases rising and reports of a vaccine in the works later in the year.
Both Glenn & I learned of family/friends/neighbors diagnosed with Covid-19. Sadly, some of them passed away in 2020 and 2021.
At the end of 2020 and the start of 2021 several companies began delivering their developed vaccines. We received our first vaccine on February 8th and our second vaccine on March 1st at SE Health drive through clinic. (We received our booster on September 27th.)
Today, both Glenn & I practice mask-wearing when grocery shopping and within gatherings where we know several unvaccinated ones will be attendance. It's hard...I won't lie.
I have a few friends who are unvaccinated. We respect each other and our boundaries we have set.
So, with 2021 coming to an end and after prayer we decided to pack the car for a week at PCB for our "after Christmas" tradition. We came, enjoyed cooked meals, walks on the beach, reading/computer puzzles and just relaxing. We enjoyed us.
Our walks on the beach and
my "pic" under the pier
After a couple of months of not walking (lazy as I was),
Pier Park became my walking path each morning.
This is a pic of the 10,000 beach balls
that were dropped onto the street for the kids
The balcony was my special place...
...and Glenn enjoyed the couch.
We had some great views
of The Gulf and blue skies.
New Year's Eve brought a couple of friends to the condo.
Even though it was foggy outside we could hear and
see just a little bit of the fireworks. And yes,
unusual colors lit up the skies.
