Thankful for the many, many blessings of God.........
one being "Memories"

Growing up as a child our home was surrounded by pecan (pea-can) trees. In the Fall when all the leaves fell, our chore was raking the fallen leaves. Dad allowed us a week or so to play with the leaves before actually raking them to the ditch. Yes, a grass ditch.

First, we would begin our play by raking paths in the leaves thus creating a "runway" and eventually raking small rectangles to be our homes. After a few days the paths began to merge together from all the running from place to place, so we would then rake the leaves to the ditch and create a fort...complete with tunnels. When the leaves began crumbling, we raked a nice pile in the ditch for the trash pick-up.

I absolutely love the Fall season.
